WI SECTION SCHEDULE

Please note that entry to Classes is restricted to WI Members only, but please feel free to wander around the marquee to view the exhibits
Class 1 - COMBINED EFFORT Not more than one entry per Institute. To be displayed on a Trestle Table (supplied by Show Committee) Theme - "AN INVITATION TO ........ " Entry Fee £2.00Prizes: 1st - £10.00 2nd - £6.00 3rd - £4.00 The MILL CHALLENGE SHIELD will be awarded to the winner of this Class The RITA HARDING MEMORIAL TROPHY will be awarded to the Institute with the highest marks for STAGING The PEGGY MARSON MEMORIAL TROPHY will be awarded to the Institute with the highest marks for PRODUCE The PEGGY ARMITT MEMORIAL SALVER will be awarded to the Institute with the highest marks for HANDICRAFTS The ROSE BOWL will be awarded to the BEST HANDICRAFT WINNER The GOBLET will be awarded to the BEST PRODUCE WINNER Complete recipes (ingredients & method) must be shown for ALL produce items 1. Six items comprising 3 Handicrafts/Artworks and 3 Produce (food/drink) - ALL HOME MADE. 2. The work of not less than 4 members. 3. Items must not have been entered for competition in the WI tent at Leek Show previously. 4. Flower arrangements and painted backgrounds will be judged as part of the STAGING only. 5. Decoration & display must be the work of WI members, but background or other structure may be made by non-members. 6. No local Institute place names to be shown before or during judging. 7. All 6 items to be judged MUST be displayed on or above the trestle table provided, while the 18" floor space in front of the trestle table may be used for staging only. 8. Maximum of 10 marks will be awarded for each item, 20 marks for staging and 10 marks for interpretation of the theme.

NB No late entries for Class 5 will be accepted after Thursday 29th July 2010 Please note - Class 1 entries MUST be in by the April meeting, plus as many entries as possible for individual classes
All trophies to be returned by JULY committee meeting. Combined exhibit may be set up after 4.00 pm on Friday prior to Show. Please show all recipes and any relevant details concerning exhibits, eg, own design/adapted pattern etc. All entries must be received and exhibits staged for judging by 9.45 am on the morning of the Show. All vehicles must be removed from the front of the tent by 10.00 am Prizes will be presented at approx 2.30 pm. NO EXHIBITS MAY BE REMOVED BEFORE 5.00 pm UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. We would appreciate each Institute folding and stacking their own table and chairs at the end of the Show and helping to tidy the tent. The Committee cannot be responsible for any exhibit still remaining after 5.30 pm. All items exhibited at owners own risk.
